Adaptable Abodes offers

Home Assessments, Design Planning, Product Coordination, Equipment Sourcing, & Homeowner Advocacy

Before you install a grab bar or begin a remodel, start with a clear plan.

HOME ASSESSMENTS

During your in-home assessment, we talk through your concerns, goals, routines, and future plans. We observe how you move through your space and identify practical ways to improve safety, comfort, and function - with a focus on fall prevention, safe mobility, home setup, and future remodeling.

You receive a detailed written report that includes:

  • Prioritized recommendations

  • Photos and key measurements

  • Contractor-ready guidance

  • Product and equipment suggestions

  • Phased options (quick wins + longer-term planning)

  • Planning-level cost ranges

  • Vetted referrals and trusted resources

The result is a practical roadmap to support safety, independence, and aging in place.

Virtual assessments are available (more affordable), along with two tiered in-home packages - see RATES.

PROJECT COORDINATION

Project Coordination keeps your remodel or equipment install aligned from start to finish - we collaborate with contractors, review plans, and translate functional needs into buildable decisions. We don’t swing hammers - we act as your homeowner representative and accessibility design coach so the finished space supports your health, mobility, and long-term goals.

Led by Founder Kelly Nesbitt- an Occupational Therapist trained in home accessibility design and aging in place - we take a “measure twice, cut once” approach, bridging the gap between clinical needs and construction so the right plan gets built safely and correctly.

DESIGN PLANNING

We help you translate your goals into a clear, buildable plan - layout options, functional priorities, and design details that support safety, comfort, and long-term independence. This includes reviewing accessibility specs and material features that best match your health and mobility needs. You get practical guidance a contractor can quote - and designers or architects can build from.

We provide concept-level visuals such as sketches, floor plan edits and notations, and annotated reference images. For permit-ready drawings or full architectural drafting, we coordinate with the appropriate design professionals.

EQUIPMENT SOURCING

We recommend the right equipment for your body, your home, and your budget - then help you compare options, confirm fit and clearances, and coordinate next steps with vendors or installers. This may include grab bars, toilet and bathing solutions, ramps, stair lifts, ceiling lifts, platform lifts, transfer aids, elevators, and smart-home supports.

HOMEOWNER ADVOCACY

We serve as your clinically-informed ally throughout the process - helping you ask the right questions, understand tradeoffs, and avoid costly missteps. When plans or bids feel overwhelming, we help clarify scope, align the team, and keep your health, safety, and long-term function at the center of every decision.
